“I attended a training on Entrepreneurship Development Program in March 2017 conducted by ATPAR in Partnership with NIESBUD. I have never attended any training earlier as there are very few such opportunities for persons with disabilities. This training was free of cost and conducted in VRC which had an accessible environment and convenient for wheel chair users. This training helped me immensely in understanding my business and how to run it more efficiently. I learnt the importance of branding and marketing and how to promote and expand my business. After the training I developed a website for my business(www.matajitelicom.com) and visiting cards with my services written. Now I want to expand my centre to an authorized Aadhar Registration centre. I have applied for a loan and I am informed that I can get the loan soon! This has restored my confidence in the system, thanks to ATPAR & NIESBUD!”

Murari Lal

Murari Lal is an entrepreneur with disability with both lower limbs affected by Polio(75%) who runs a Telecom centre by his mother’s name ‘Mata ji Telecom‘. He came to Delhi in 1994 with his parents and an elder brother. But due to disability was unable to get any regular job and started a small ‘Pan Shop’ from his home in 1999. After working in that shop for 17 years, he shifted his business to Mobile accessories and Money Transfer, and saw some long run profit in this new business. Thus started Mata Ji Telecom business in Jan-2016 which is registered under Delhi Shops & Establishment Act, 1954 and today he has a Bank account with State Bank of India, Mayur Vihar in the name of his shop. He is married and has two children.

Since he sells Mobile accessories and initiates money transfers via “Money-Transfer” portal for people and attends to 50-60 customers a day, he keeps getting enquiry from his customers for making Aadhar card too. This need lead to the desire to expand his business and become an authorized Aadhar Service centre.

After the ATPAR – NIESBUD EDP training he requested for Mudra loan and support for facilitating the process from ATPAR. After due diligence ATPAR found him suitable for applying as he had a clean record and had cleared all dues of his previous vehicle loans of Scooter and Car from HDFC Bank and TATA Motors respectively where had he had paid all the installments even before the granted tenure from the respective firms.

He applied to SBI Bank for availing the loan for purchase of the required Devices and accessories. While applying for one lakh his loan requisition was only for Rs.50,000 from Mudra Scheme while the balance amount was to be borne by him.

ATPAR facilitated and initiated the paper work with the help of NIESBUD and submission was done. The bank (SBI) too have done their due diligence and have agreed to sanction the amount in principle as soon as he is ready.

This is a big step in Murari’s life as he had lost hope in systems and believed that disabled people can’t get loans for business but with ATPAR’s facilitation and huge support from a big organization like NIESBUD he is infused with great confidence , renewed energy and motivation to take his business to the next level.

As NIESBUD Partner ATPAR conducts EDP Training to Persons with Disabilities & other marginalized groups.
